Edition 2025 — Cheese Wheel Throwing

The 2025 edition of the Italian Championship of Team Cheese Wheel Throwing in Castel di Lama confirmed the tradition of traditional Piceno games. Once again, pairs of throwers competed in the weight categories (3, 6, 9, and 22 kg) and the women's category, between the qualifications along the country roads and the national finals in the historic centre, under the auspices of FIGeST.

The 2025 edition followed in the footsteps of the event's long history, organized by ASD Giochi Tradizionali Castel di Lama with the patronage of the Municipality and the Province of Ascoli Piceno. As tradition dictates, the qualifications took place along the country tracks of the Piceno territory, and the finals awarded the Italian Champion titles in the various weight categories and the women's category. The event brought together veteran athletes and young throwers, promoting a game with ancient peasant roots and keeping alive a heritage of popular traditions from the Marche region.
