Investiture of the Templar Knight

The 21st edition of the Investiture of the Templar Knight took place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 9:00 PM in Montalbano Park in Oria, at the foot of the Norman-Swabian Castle. The ceremony, organized by the Accademia Federico II APS, retraced the steps of admitting a knight into the Order of the Temple: preparation, oath of loyalty and service, blessing of the arms, robing, and presentation of Templar emblems.

The public enjoyed the panoramic walk between the castle towers, illuminated at sunset, which preceded the solemn moment of the rite. Throughout the month of August, the "Media Aetas Duellatorum" exhibition, dedicated to medieval weapons and armor, was open to visitors in the adjacent Church of San Giovanni Battista, with audio guides in four languages. Admission to the event was free of charge.
