International "Sciara dell'Etna" Award

Fourth edition in Giarre

The fourth edition of the International "Sciara dell'Etna" Award took place on May 17, 2025, in the prestigious Hall of Mirrors of the municipal palace of Giarre, in the province of Catania. The evening, organized by the Amici della Musica e dell'Arte Association directed by Gianvito De Salvo, celebrated excellence in various fields, from music to science, from research to communication, reaffirming the bond with Sicily and the verdello lemon, "gold of Etna and the Ionian coast."

The ceremony featured the performance of institutional anthems, including the Italian national anthem and the Carabinieri anthem performed by sopranos and tenors, and included a touching moment dedicated to memory. Awards were presented to eight individuals in disciplines ranging from physics to music, theater to dentistry, and journalism, in addition to three special posthumous awards. The event was also attended by the Catania Chefs Association, led by president Pietro Arezzi.
