International Kite Festival

2025 Edition (XV)

The fifteenth edition of the International Kite Festival was held in San Vito Lo Capo (Trapani) from May 21 to 25, 2025. The event kicked off on Wednesday, May 21, with the opening parade from the Town Hall to the beach.

For five days, the sky was filled with the displays of 71 kite flyers from Italy, France, and Malta, flying over the beach from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Educational workshops were active every day from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, allowing adults and children to build their own personalized kite.

On Friday, May 23, at 5:58 PM, the commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the Capaci massacre took place with the flight of white kites and the reading of excerpts from the writings of Giovanni Falcone. On Saturday night, the nighttime flight of illuminated kites drew luminous geometries in the sky, accompanied by light shows and music. Admission was free.
