Freedom Trail 2025: The 23rd edition

The 23rd edition of the march was held from April 25 to 27, 2025, divided into three days of walking from Sulmona to Casoli across the Maiella passes, for a total of about sixty kilometers. The first stage, on April 25, led participants to Campo di Giove; the second stage, on April 26, reached Taranta Peligna, in the Province of Chieti, with a significant stop at the Brigata Maiella Memorial. The third day concluded in Casoli, beyond the ancient Gustav Line.

Approximately three hundred participants took part in the march, mostly students from high schools in Sulmona, Casoli, and Castel di Sangro. The edition coincided with the 80th anniversary of the Liberation from Nazi-fascism, taking on a particularly intense commemorative value. During the year, the presidency of the association passed from Maria Rosaria La Morgia to Graziano Litigante.
