Taurano 2025: four countries in two evenings

On August 3rd and 4th, 2025, the Piazzale Giovanni Falcone in Taurano hosted the Folklore Meetings organized by the Pro Loco, with ensembles arriving from Brazil, Cuba, Georgia, and Slovakia: four very different traditions — Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Caribbean repertoire, polyphonic songs and dances from the Caucasus, and Central European choreography — brought together on the same open-air stage.

The two evenings were part of «Fest — L'Estate a Taurano», the summer program of the Vallo di Lauro municipality which, in 2025, ran from July 10th to August 15th, featuring band concerts, musical evenings, the Gnocchi Festival at San Giovanni del Palco, and events dedicated to families. All events were free of charge.

In 2025, as per the tradition started in 1996, the reception of foreign groups was handled by Pro Loco volunteers together with the Laccio di Amore folk group, which safeguards the town's historical dances.
