Edition 2025 — Venice Film Festival

In 2025, the 82nd Venice International Film Festival animated the Lido with international premieres, red carpet events, and the awarding of the Golden Lion, reaffirming the festival's status as one of the world's most important cinematic gatherings, under the direction of Alberto Barbera.

The 2025 edition of the Venice Film Festival brought international cinema back to the Lido, featuring world premieres, screenings, and director Q&As at the Palazzo del Cinema. The red carpet drew directors, actors, and enthusiasts from around the globe, concluding with the awarding of the Golden Lion for best film and other official prizes. The event, organized by La Biennale di Venezia (VE), reinforced its role as the opener of the international film awards season.

Programme

The 2025 edition followed the established structure: main competition, Orizzonti, Venezia Classici, Venice Immersive, and Biennale College Cinema sections, with world premieres at the Palazzo del Cinema and the Golden Lion award ceremony on the closing night.
