International Chimney Sweep Gathering

42nd International Chimney Sweep Gathering (2025)

The 2025 edition of the Gathering was held from September 5th to 8th in Santa Maria Maggiore, in the heart of Val Vigezzo (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont), attracting about 1,300 chimney sweeps from all over Europe and the world. Among the novelties was the first participation of a delegation from Luxembourg.

The heart of the event was the traditional Sunday parade, with over a thousand chimney sweeps dressed in black (only the Dutch delegation wore white), accompanied by brass bands and groups in traditional costumes along the village streets. The Chimney Sweep Museum, the cultural heart of the event, confirmed its role as the guardian of the memory of an ancient trade linked to the valley's identity.
