Edition 2025 — Ahrntal Woodcarving Symposium

The 16th edition of the International Woodcarving Symposium was held from July 6 to 12, 2025, in Lutago/Luttach, in the Ahrntal Valley. The theme was "The crib tells its story: then and now." Ten selected sculptors from around the world transformed the village into a large studio, working live on larch logs with chisels and mallets, under the eyes of the public and with the usual final vote.

2025 Edition in Lutago

The 16th edition of the symposium took place from July 6 to 12, 2025, in Lutago/Luttach, in the Ahrntal Valley, on the theme "The crib tells its story: then and now" (The Crib Tells Its Story: then and now). The village was transformed into a large open-air studio where ten sculptors selected from around the world gave shape to larch logs — up to 2.2 meters long and with a maximum diameter of 60 centimeters — worked with chisels and mallets in front of spectators. The works were evaluated by a jury and the public was able to choose their favorite sculpture.
