Edition 2025 — Inchinata of Tivoli
Inchinata 2025 — faith, tradition, and spectacle
The 2025 edition of the Inchinata Festival confirmed the deep bond between Tivoli and its oldest procession. The festivities opened with the preparatory triduum from August 11th to 13th, culminating on the evening of August 14th: at 11:30 AM, the exposition of the Most Holy Savior in the Cathedral; at 6:30 PM, that of the image of Maria Santissima delle Grazie at Santa Maria Maggiore; then at 8:30 PM, the Liturgy of the Word presided over by the Bishop, and at 9:00 PM, the departure of the solemn procession through the historic streets of the city.
After the blessing of the waters at the Ponte Gregoriano (9:30 PM) and the prayer at the San Giovanni Evangelista hospital (10:00 PM), at 10:45 PM the ritual greeting—the Inchinata—was renewed between the Most Holy Savior and the Virgin, marked by traditional musket fire before a crowded Piazza Trento. The evening concluded at 11:30 PM with the fireworks display at the Amphitheatre of Bleso, while on the morning of August 15th, the return procession with the guilds and confraternities brought the Triptych back to the Cathedral. The festivities concluded on August 22nd with the Octave.
