In the Land of Bandello

The 2025 edition of the "In the Land of Bandello" historical re-enactment represented the first major event of the newly revived Matteo Bandello Study Center in Castelnuovo Scrivia, in the province of Alessandria. The cultural program, curated by Giuseppe Polimeni, featured contributions from scholars such as Sandra Carapezza and Elisabetta Menetti, alongside a theatrical performance by Emanuele Arrigazzi in the role of the famous Renaissance short-story writer.

There was also an educational workshop led by Natale Panaro and readings by Aurora Cattaneo and Tommaso Botti. Local reports highlighted the "remarkable participation" in the cycle of meetings, confirming the deep bond between the community and the figure of Matteo Bandello, the writer whose Novelle inspired Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet".
