Edition 2025 — Illica Festival
The twelfth edition of the Illica Festival took place from July 9 to 12, 2025, in Castell'Arquato, under the artistic direction of Maestro Jacopo Brusa. Four days dedicated to Luigi Illica, with operas in concert form, instrumental ensembles, meetings, and the ceremony of the Luigi Illica International Award in the evocative Piazza Monumentale.
The 2025 edition
The twelfth edition of the Illica Festival, directed by Maestro Jacopo Brusa, celebrated the legacy of librettist Luigi Illica with a rich program in Castell'Arquato.
- July 9 – Illica Museum: inauguration of the documentary exhibition on Illica and Smareglia.
- July 10 – Piazza Monumentale: Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly in concert form.
- July 11 – concert by the Saxophone Ensemble of the Accademia Toscanini, with twelve saxophones, piano, bass, and drums.
- July 12 – seminar in the hanging gardens of Palazzo Vigevani and, in Piazza Monumentale, Antonio Smareglia's Pittori Fiamminghi with the ceremony of the 34th Luigi Illica International Award.
The event confirmed itself as one of the key cultural events of the summer in the province of Piacenza.
