Il Sud che Balla 2025: Two nights of pizzica and taranta

The 2025 edition of Il Sud che Balla was held on August 28 and 29 in Piazza Antonio Stracuzzi in Santa Teresa di Riva, with free admission. The first evening featured the Super Taranta, with leading artists from the Salento and Southern folk music scene such as Antonio Castrignanò, Mauro Durante, Giancarlo Paglialunga, Enza Pagliara, Giulio Bianco, and Silvia Perrone.

The second evening, on August 29, brought the young and talented Calabrian multi-instrumentalist Davis Muccari to the stage, who is capable of blending ancient melodies with contemporary sounds. The event also paid tribute to the Canterini della Riviera Jonica «Melino Romolo», guardians of over sixty years of local musical history, and was intertwined with the eighth edition of the Romolo Folk Fest, creating a highly popular end-of-summer event.
