Edition 2025 — Il Massimo per la Città

In the summer of 2025, Il Massimo per la Città brought the Fondazione Teatro Massimo to the twenty-five districts of Palermo, from historic monuments like the Royal Palace, Palatine Chapel, and Botanical Garden to the suburbs of Brancaccio, Sperone, ZEN, and Borgo Nuovo. A vast campaign of concerts and shows, with a 'Kids for Kids' section dedicated to young musicians, to place music at the service of the community.

The 2025 edition of Il Massimo per la Città transformed Palermo into a large, widespread stage. The theatre season began on June 22 with a tribute to Saint Rosalia and concluded on July 31 with Fatalità, a reflection on tragic female figures in literature and opera. The project involved all the ensembles of the Teatro Massimo, from orchestra professors to youth groups, bringing high-quality music to monuments, churches, schools, hospitals, courtyards, and squares in the most peripheral districts. A dual value, educational and social, which confirmed the theatre's vocation to be a living part of the Palermitan community and of Sicily.
