Edition 2025 — Cinema Ritrovato

The 39th edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato took place in Bologna from June 21 to 29, 2025, featuring 454 films in its program and attracting over 140,000 spectators, including 5,000 accredited guests from around the world. Among the distinguished guests at Cinema Modernissimo were Terry Gilliam and Jim Jarmusch. The edition opened with a 70mm print of Spielberg's 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' and closed in Piazza Maggiore with Jonathan Glazer's 'The Zone of Interest'.

The 39th edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato was held in Bologna from June 21 to 29, 2025, reaffirming the festival's status as a major global event for restored cinema. Over nine days, the festival presented 454 titles across eight cinemas in the city center and in Piazza Maggiore, drawing more than 140,000 spectators and approximately 5,000 accredited guests from all over the world.

Among the sections of the 2025 edition were Found and Restored, Documents and Documentaries, Cinemalibero, a retrospective dedicated to cinema from 1905, and the Kids and Young program. Exceptional guests such as Terry Gilliam and Jim Jarmusch were welcomed at Cinema Modernissimo. The opening night featured a rare 70mm print of Steven Spielberg's 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind,' while the closing event in Piazza Maggiore showcased 'The Zone of Interest' by Jonathan Glazer, an Oscar winner.
