Edition 2025 — Il Cielo a Terra

In 2025, the traveling exhibition "Il Cielo a Terra" had not yet been inaugurated: the project of the INAF PRISMA Network, supported by the Fondazione CRT, debuted in 2026 as the first exhibition dedicated to the meteorite sites of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. However, the Motta de' Conti stop has roots in a much older history, that of the meteorite that fell in the town in 1868.

The Il Cielo a Terra exhibition was born as the first traveling exhibition on the meteorite sites of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley and started in 2026: in 2025, the exhibition did not yet have a public edition.

Motta de' Conti's bond with celestial bodies has been consolidated for over a century and a half. On February 29, 1868, around Casale, two loud booms were heard, and several meteorite fragments were recovered in the territories of Villanova and Motta de' Conti. It is this scientific and popular heritage that makes the Vercelli municipality one of the natural stops for the INAF PRISMA Network project.
