Edition 2025 — Silone Prize
The 28th edition of the Ignazio Silone International Prize was divided into two parts. The summer session, from August 19 to 23, 2025, kicked off with an excursion along the Silone Trail and a concert by the Tesori d'Abruzzo Orchestra in Piazza Duomo, followed by round-table discussions on the theme of Silone's journalism, book presentations in Piazza Mazzarino, and musical evenings with nationally renowned artists. The main award was presented to Gaetano Quagliariello, with prizes also awarded for the thesis section (Marco Lemme and Sabrina Di Martino, ex aequo) and translation (Carlos Clavería Laguarda).
The winter session, on December 12, 2025, concluded the edition with the "Youth and Ignazio Silone" section, dedicated to high schools in the Marsica region, featuring student awards at the San Francesco Theatre, the presentation of the book Return to Fontamara by Silvia Grossi, and the musical show "Homage to Silone." The event took place in Pescina during the year the city celebrated its bond with L'Aquila, Capital of Culture.
