Ides of March (historical re-enactment of the assassination of Julius Caesar)

Ides of March 2025 — 22nd edition

The twenty-second edition was held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, between the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina and the Roman Forum, organized by the Gruppo Storico Romano with the participation of the "Decima Legio" Cultural Association.

With about sixty costumed re-enactors, the event reconstructed two sessions of the Senate — the one where Caesar presented his candidacy for the third consulship and the fatal one of March 15 — and the conspiracy. Caesar's body was then carried in a procession, according to ancient Roman rites, to the Roman Forum, where the funeral orations of Brutus and Mark Antony resonated. The event was free and open to citizens and visitors.
