Edition 2025 — Immaterial Landscapes
The first edition of the Immaterial Landscapes festival took place in Buscemi (Syracuse) from August 23 to 25, 2025, starting at 9:00 PM. For three evenings, the medieval village in the Iblei Mountains transformed into a grand open-air stage.
The multidisciplinary event wove together theater, dance, music, visual installations, grand scenography, and oral narratives, blending them into a collective story with the village itself as the protagonist. The artistic direction was led by Lucenzo Tambuzzo, with direction by Pino Di Buduo, founder of Teatro Potlach and a specialist in the transformation of public spaces. The site-specific performances highlighted the "immaterial landscapes" of the territory: oral traditions, Baroque architecture, scenes of peasant and pastoral civilization, and the community's ritual cycles, with the active involvement of associations, creative groups, and residents as living cultural heritage. The project was funded by the PNRR (Mission 1, Component 3 — Culture 4.0).
