I Caldoreschi — Historical Re-enactment in the Year of Our Lord 1450

2025 Edition

The 28th edition of the historical re-enactment "I Caldoreschi" was held in Pacentro (AQ), in Abruzzo, from August 19 to 24, 2025, spanning six consecutive evenings in the week following Ferragosto.

For six nights, the village returned to the Year of Our Lord 1450, the time of the Caldora Counts. Over 220 performers—including actors, extras, and main characters—wore more than 250 period costumes, bringing to life weapon duels, knightly investitures, enlistments in the Caldoreschi militia, witch trials with pyres, and court ceremonies. The scenes, illuminated by torches, took place between the Caldoresco Castle, with its high towers, and the alleys of the historic center.

The event, organized by the Associazione Culturale Pacentrana, was free to attend.
