The 2025 Rites in Taranto

In 2025, the Taranto Holy Week took place from April 13 to 20, with Palm Sunday dedicated to the auctions for the 'sdanghe' and the symbols of the two processions. A particularly anticipated moment of the edition was the return of the Misteri Procession along the alleys of the Old Town of Taranto.

On the night of Holy Thursday, the Addolorata Procession marched from San Domenico; on Good Friday, April 18, at 5:00 PM, the Misteri Procession set off from the Carmine, returning only on the morning of Saturday, April 19, when at 9:15 AM the 'troccolante' knocked three times on the church door, according to tradition. The Municipality of Taranto implemented specific traffic changes to ensure the rites could take place.
