Edition 2025 — Holy Week in Molfetta

In 2025, the Holy Week rites of Molfetta once again drew thousands of faithful and visitors to the city's historic centre. The two confraternities, Santo Stefano with its red robes and the Confraternity of Death with its black robes, brought the three grand processions to life: the Addolorata on Passion Friday, the Five Mysteries on Good Friday, and the Pietà on Holy Saturday, amidst centuries-old wooden statues and funeral marches.

In 2025, the Molfetta Holy Week followed its centuries-old course between Passion Friday and Holy Saturday. The Procession of the Addolorata opened the cycle of rites, moving from the Church of Purgatorio; the Procession of the Five Mysteries of the Archconfraternity of Santo Stefano, with the five statues of the Passion carried on shoulders, represented the most intense and well-attended moment; the Procession of the Pietà closed the route on Holy Saturday. As every year, the stradari in tailcoats preceded the processions and the bands performed traditional funeral marches, in a setting of great popular devotion that is an identity heritage of Molfetta, in the province of Bari.
