Edition 2025 — Holy Week of Grottaglie

In April 2025, with Easter celebrated on Sunday, April 20, Grottaglie renewed its cycle of Holy Week rites. From the Procession of the Desolata on Passion Friday to the pilgrimage of the Bbùbbli Bbùbbli on Holy Thursday, and the Procession of the Mysteries on Good Friday, the City of Ceramics experienced days of intense popular devotion led by the city's confraternities.

Holy Week 2025 in Grottaglie

With Easter 2025 falling on April 20, the rites in Grottaglie took place in the second half of the month. The Confraternity of the Most Holy Name of Jesus opened the cycle with the Procession of the Desolata on Passion Friday, followed by the Altars of Repose and the barefoot pilgrimage of Li Bbùbbli Bbùbbli of the Carmine Confraternity on Holy Thursday.

On Good Friday, the Purgatory Confraternity led the Procession of the Mysteries through the historic center, amidst funeral chants and the contemplation of the faithful, once again confirming the vitality of a secular tradition in the Taranto area.
