2025 Edition
The 2025 Procession of the Barette took place on Friday, April 18, Good Friday, renewing the rite that the city of Messina has passed down since 1610. The eleven statuary groups in papier-mâché, plaster, and wood paraded on shoulders along the historic center, starting from the Church of the Nuovo Oratorio della Pace e Bianchi and reaching Piazza Duomo, the heart of the event.
As per tradition, the procession was accompanied by city musical bands and the presence of the popular figures of the procession, in an atmosphere of deep recollection that involves thousands of the faithful and visitors in the municipality of Messina, Sicily, every year.
