Edition 2025 — Holy Week in Realmonte

In 2025, the Holy Week in Realmonte took place from Palm Sunday on April 13th to Easter on April 20th, with Good Friday on April 18th. The community renewed the traditional rites organized by the Pia Confraternita della Croce, from the processions of Christ and the Addolorata to the ascent to the Calvary, accompanied by the 'u lamentu' chant of the Lamentatori.

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Realmonte rites confirmed the vitality of a tradition deeply rooted in the Agrigento municipality. On Good Friday, April 18th, the processions departed from the mother church to meet in Piazza Umberto I and ascend to the Calvary, where local youths played the Roman soldiers. The Lamentatori accompanied the processions with 'u lamentu', the ancient chant in Latin and Sicilian preserved by the Pia Confraternita della Croce, before a large and participatory community.
