2025 Edition
In 2025, the Holy Week of Caltanissetta experienced its most intense moments between Holy Wednesday, with the Real Maestranza and the Varicedde, Holy Thursday, with the Biangardi Vare parading until dawn, and Good Friday, April 18, dedicated to the Black Christ.
The procession of the SS. Crocifisso Signore della Città, sober and essential yet deeply meaningful, began at dusk from the sanctuary near the San Francesco district. The statue, entrusted as per tradition to the descendants of the Fogliamari, was carried on shoulders by barefoot men, accompanied by the Lamentanze, the poignant archaic chants that rose into the air among thousands of faithful and visitors, in an atmosphere of profound contemplation.
