Holy Week of Bitonto

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week of Bitonto followed the liturgical calendar with its usual intensity. On Passion Friday, April 11, the Procession of the Desolata departed at 10:00 AM from the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, traversing the streets of the historic center and returning around 1:30 PM.

On Good Friday, April 18, the Procession of the Mysteries departed at the first light of dawn, at 6:00 AM, from the church of San Francesco d'Assisi, organized by the Archconfraternity of the SS. Rosario, while the solemn evening procession set off at 6:00 PM from the Church of Purgatorio. The rites were accompanied by musical events such as the Passionis Tempora concert on April 9 and funeral marches on April 17, confirming the deep bond between the Bitonto community and its Easter traditions.
