Edition 2025 — Holy Week of Aidone

In 2025, the Holy Week of Aidone took place from Palm Sunday, April 13, to Easter Sunday, April 20. That year, the village once again relived its ancient rites: the Procession of the Santuna, the laments of the confraternities, Good Friday with the deposition from the cross, and the Giunta di Pasqua at noon in Piazza Cordova.

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week of Aidone confirmed the strength of one of the oldest Easter traditions in Sicily. From the Procession of the Santuna on Palm Sunday, with the apostles carried by the santari, to the Giunta di Pasqua in Piazza Filippo Cordova, the town gathered around its seven confraternities and the laments in the Gallo-Italic dialect. Particularly moving, as every year, was Good Friday with the Scisa a Crusg' and the nocturnal procession of Our Lady of Sorrows.
