Holy Week 2025 in Ragusa Ibla

The 2025 edition confirmed the richness of the Ibla Easter rites. From Palm Sunday, the Confraternities of Ibla began the processions that accompany the statues to the Mother Church of San Giorgio during the Forty Hours of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, which concluded on the evening of Holy Wednesday. Among the most evocative processions were the one carrying the statue of Jesus to the Garden of Olives and the one carrying the statue of the Pietà from the church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo, in addition to the procession of Veronica entrusted to the members of San Filippo Neri. On Good Friday, after the celebration of the Lord's Passion at 5:00 PM, the Procession of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows traversed Piazza Duomo, Corso XXV Aprile, Piazza Pola, and the other streets of Ibla at 8:00 PM, returning to the Mother Church of San Giorgio.
