Edition 2025 — Holy Week in Palermo
Holy Week 2025 in Palermo
Holy Week 2025 in Palermo concluded with Easter on April 20. On Good Friday, April 18, the confraternities of the historic center brought the districts to life with the processions of the Dead Christ and the Sorrowful Mother, accompanied by brass bands and costumed participants. The Confraternity at Capo and the Coachmen at Kalsa departed from 4:30 PM, the Bakers in Albergheria from 4:45 PM.
Among the most solemn moments was the 435th edition of the Soledad procession, which departed from Via Maqueda with the exquisite 18th-century Dead Christ attributed to Quattrocchi, in the presence of the mayor, civil and military authorities, and the honorary consul of Spain. On Holy Saturday, the rite of the Calata r'a tila was renewed, while Easter Sunday celebrations concluded at the Cathedral.
