Edition 2025 — Holy Week Licodia Eubea

In 2025, the Holy Week in Licodia Eubea once again renewed its Passion rites during the Easter period. The community gathered around the traditional statues for the Sittina d'Addulurata, the Good Friday Giunta, and the procession of 'u Signuri 'a cascia', confirming the vitality of a tradition that has its roots in the 16th century.

Holy Week 2025

In 2025, the rites of the Licodian Holy Week took place according to custom. The Septenary of Our Lady of Sorrows opened the cycle in the Mother Church; on Holy Wednesday, the procession of Christ at the column took place; on Good Friday, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the Giunta between Our Lady of Sorrows and Christ with the Cross dragged by the Circieddu was renewed, followed by the Auction of the Cross, the Crucifixion on Mount Calvary, and the mournful procession of 'u Signuri 'a cascia'. Easter Sunday saw the Resurrection Giunta, closing the rites in the joy of the entire community of Licodia Eubea, in the province of Catania.
