Holy Week 2025

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Francavilla Fontana took place during the Easter period, with Easter Sunday celebrated on April 20, 2025. As per tradition, the Maundy Thursday marked the beginning of the penitential pilgrimage of the Pappamusci of the Carmine Congregation, which continued until sunset on Good Friday. In the evening, the Procession of the Mysteries, led by the Royal Archconfraternity of Prayer and Death, carried the 19th-century polychrome papier-mâché statues through the streets of the historic center, amidst the cross-bearers and the sound of the tremula. The rites were accompanied, as every year, by a civil program of exhibitions and concerts in the city's churches.
