Edition 2025 — Holy Week in Butera

In 2025, the Holy Week in Butera featured its cycle of rites from Palm Sunday to Easter, with the processions of Christ the Saviour, the Ecce Homo, the Sorrowful Mother, and the SS. Crocifisso. That year, the most anticipated moment was again "A Giunta" in Piazza Dante, the encounter between the Risen Christ and the Madonna of Joy, experienced with great participation by the local community.

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Butera confirmed the strength of one of the most evocative traditions in the province of Caltanissetta. From Palm Sunday, with the procession of Christ the Saviour and the costumed apostles towards "U Santu Più," to the intense rites of Holy Thursday and Good Friday, the village experienced days of deep devotion amidst trumpet calls, drum rolls, and the singing of the lamentatori.

The culmination was, as per tradition, "A Giunta" on Easter Sunday in Piazza Dante: the joyful meeting between the Risen Christ and the Madonna of Joy, dressed as a bride, followed by the tour of the statues through the village streets until late in the evening.
