Holy Week in Assoro

The 2025 edition opened on Saturday, April 12, with the Holy Mass of the Sorrowful Virgin in the Basilica of San Leone and the musical show "Sounds and Chants of the Holy Week of the Sicilian Hinterland." Palm Sunday, April 13, featured the blessing of the palms and the procession, with masses in the Basilica at 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The central days included the Way of the Cross and a sacred music concert by the "A. Pacini" Band (Holy Monday), the mass with the 'angioletti' (Tuesday), the procession with the blessing of the fields at the Calvary (Wednesday), and the Coena Domini Mass on Holy Thursday. Good Friday, April 18, the main day, featured the Rosary of Divine Mercy at 2:30 PM, the Passion of the Lord at 3:00 PM with the descent of the Holy Crucifix statue, and, at 9:00 PM, the solemn evening procession with the band, confraternity members, and barefoot devotees. Additionally, from April 12 to 20, the "Torre F/2" photography exhibition was held in the Council Chamber.
