Holy Week in Altofonte

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Altofonte featured the traditional rites of the village in the Metropolitan City of Palermo. The celebrations, organized by the Parrocchia Arcipretura Santa Maria d'Altofonte, began with the blessing of the palms at the Norman Chapel and continued with the local Stations of the Cross along the streets of the historic center, set against the backdrop of the Calvario hill with its fourteen chapels.

As per tradition, the most attended moment was the Good Friday procession with the statues of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows, an expression of the popular devotion rooted in the town.
