Edition 2025 — Holy Week Allume

In 2025, the village of Allume in Roccalumera once again observed Holy Week with the traditional Passion rites centered around the Mother Church of Santa Maria del Rosario. From Palm Sunday, April 13, to Easter Sunday, April 20, the community gathered for the Stations of the Cross, Easter Triduum celebrations, and the Good Friday procession, continuing a tradition renewed every year in the village.

The 2025 edition of Holy Week in Allume, a hamlet of the Municipality of Roccalumera in the province of Messina, followed the traditional liturgical calendar, marked from Palm Sunday, April 13, to Easter Sunday, April 20. Centered around the Mother Church of Santa Maria del Rosario, the devotional heart of the village, the Stations of the Cross, the Holy Thursday and Good Friday celebrations—including the procession through the village streets—and the solemn liturgy of the Resurrection took place. It was a deeply felt event for the Allume community, which every year also draws back many emigrants returning for the Easter holidays.
