Edition 2025 — Holy Week in Ramacca

In 2025, the Holy Week in Ramacca once again featured its traditional rites, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. The community of the municipality of Ramacca, in the province of Catania, renewed the Passion processions with the 'Scisa a Cruci' on Good Friday and the Easter encounter in Piazza Umberto, confirming the vitality of a tradition deeply rooted in the Calatino area.

Holy Week 2025

In 2025, the Holy Week celebrations in Ramacca, in the province of Catania, followed the usual calendar of rites: the procession of the Lord at the Column and the Our Lady of Sorrows on Holy Wednesday, the 'lamenti' songs on Holy Thursday in the San Giuseppe Parish, the solemn 'Scisa a Cruci' on Good Friday with the deposition of the dead Christ carried by hooded figures, and the Easter encounter between the Risen Christ and the Madonna in Piazza Umberto. The statues were carried on shoulders by the community's numerous bearers, in an atmosphere of intense popular participation.
