Historical Re-enactment of the Republic of Cospaia

In 2025, the Historical Re-enactment of the Republic of Cospaia renewed the event celebrating the customs and flavours of the tradition of the small Upper Tiber Valley hamlet. Among the streets enlivened by the contraband market, cigar and pipe stands, and street artists, figures in period costumes re-staged the life of the tobacco republic that existed from 1441 to 1826. There were also the 'smuggler's trekking', theatrical performances, show cooking with tastings, and a treasure hunt for children, with the wooden coin minted with the schools for exchanges at the stands. The event was promoted by the Municipality of San Giustino with the Pro Loco and local associations.
