Historical Piceno Carnival - The Zanni

The 2025 edition of the Historical Piceno Carnival - The Zanni renewed in Acquasanta Terme, in the Province of Ascoli Piceno, a tradition documented since 1530. The Zanni procession animated the mountain hamlets of the Garrafo Valley, winding through Umito and Pozza with its characteristic masks and fixed traditional figures. As every year, the route included stops from house to house with the offering of typical dishes by the inhabitants, homage at the partisan cemetery, and a festive conclusion in the village of Pozza. An event that confirms the vitality of one of Italy's oldest carnivals, preserved by the small communities of the Marche Apennines within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park.
