Historical Pageant – Licentia Populandi

The 2025 edition of the Historical Pageant – Licentia Populandi was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, starting at 4:30 PM, under the title «Cuntu di Bellumunti e di Mizzagnu». The event kicked off with the blessing of the banners and knights in Piazza Garibaldi, continued with the start of the pageant and a stop at the baglio for an intense re-enactment, and concluded with a parade through the town streets.

The participants wore 16th–18th century costumes — knights, ladies, banners, and meticulously detailed garments — under the direction and set design of Massimo Di Blasi, with historical texts by Prof. Pietro Attinasi. The event, with free admission, was promoted by the Municipality of Belmonte Mezzagno with Mayor Maurizio Milone, Councilor for Entertainment Maria Occhione, and Pro Loco President Giovanni Dragotto.
