Historical Pageant and Palio of the Cart of Monteleone d'Orvieto

The 2025 edition of the Historical Pageant and Palio of the Cart confirmed the Ferragosto ritual of Monteleone d'Orvieto. In the days leading up to August 16th, the throwing of the gauntlet took place in Piazza Bilancini between the Noble House of the Counts of Montemarte and the Counts of Marsciano; the village then experienced its main day with the historical costume pageant and the Cart Race.

The parade, with over four hundred participants, brought to life the centuries-old rivalries and traditions of the medieval castle, in a festive atmosphere that draws residents and visitors each year to this corner of the Orvieto area, in the province of Terni.
