Edition 2025 — Carnival of Verrès

The 2025 edition of the Historical Carnival of Verrès renewed the re-enactment of Caterina di Challant with historical parades, over 250 figures in late medieval costume, castle dances, and the grand masked parade, confirming the charm of one of the most beloved historical carnivals in the Aosta Valley.

In 2025, the Historical Carnival of Verrès once again brought the Aosta Valley village back to the heart of the late Middle Ages. The main couple, in the roles of Catherine de Challant and Pierre d'Introd, led a procession of over 250 costumed figures through the town's streets and the halls of the Verrès Castle. Historical parades, gala dances, masked processions, and convivial moments marked the festive days, confirming the event as one of the most cherished identity events in the Aosta Valley.

Programme

The 2025 program followed the traditional structure: presentation and historical parade in Piazza Émile Chanoux, gala dances at the castle, masked party for children, distribution of polenta, and a grand masked parade with floats on the closing day.
