Edition 2025 — Coumba Freida Saint-Rhémy

In 2025, the Historical Carnival of the Coumba Freida once again enlivened Saint-Rhémy-en-Bosses as part of the carnival calendar of the Great St Bernard valley. The Landzette, with their colourful and richly decorated costumes, travelled through the main village and its hamlets, going door-to-door, entering homes, dancing in the streets, and sharing food and drinks with the inhabitants.

The 2025 edition of the carnival in Saint-Rhémy-en-Bosses was part of the rich calendar of the historical carnivals of the Coumba Freida, which each year involves several municipalities between Valpelline and the Great St Bernard valley. The Landzette — the colourful masked figures that tradition links to the passage of Napoleon's troops in 1800 — enlivened the main village and its hamlets with door-to-door visits, amidst street dancing and sharing of food and drinks with the inhabitants. The event, deeply communal, confirmed the vitality of one of the most characteristic traditions of the Aosta Valley Region, at the entrance to the Great St Bernard Pass.
