Edition 2025 — Coumba Freida Étroubles
The 2025 edition of the Étroubles carnival was part of the rich calendar of the historical carnivals of the Coumba Freida, which each year involves several municipalities between Valpelline and the Great St Bernard valley. In Étroubles, the Landzette — the colorful masks that recall the passage of Napoleon's troops in 1800 — animated the medieval village and its hamlets according to the usual sequence: gathering of the "benda" in the morning, visit to the mayor's house, parades through the villages, and in the evening, the masked ball with the award ceremony for the "patoille". The event, deeply community-oriented, confirmed the vitality of one of the most characteristic traditions of the Aosta Valley Region, also preserved by the Museum of the Coumba Freida Carnival in the village.
