Edition 2025 — Coumba Freida Allein
The 2025 edition of the Allein carnival was part of the rich calendar of historical carnivals of the Coumba Freida, which each year involves several municipalities between Valpelline and the Gran San Bernardo valley. In Allein, the Landzette — the colorful and richly decorated masks that recall the passage of Napoleonic troops in 1800 — paraded through the municipality's hamlets, entering houses, dancing in the streets and squares, and sharing food and drinks with the inhabitants. The event, free and deeply communal, confirmed the vitality of one of the most characteristic traditions of the Aosta Valley Region, celebrated from generation to generation amidst colors, mirrors, and protective symbols.
