Herencias – Writings of Memory and Identity

Herencias 2025 – the fourth edition

The fourth edition of Herencias – Writings of Memory and Identity took place at the Teatro Palladium in Rome from March 17th to May 8th, 2025, in the Garbatella district. Curated by Simone Trecca, the festival continued its reflection on forms of creative writing in the Hispanic world that address the construction of identity through collective memory, contrasting the traumas of the past with a present marked by discrimination, violence, and marginalisation.

The edition opened with two powerful productions: Musica per Hitler by Yolanda García Serrano and Juan Carlos Rubio, and Sbandate by Laila Ripoll. The festival, organised by Roma Tre University together with the Teatro Palladium Foundation and in collaboration with the Spanish Academy, confirmed in 2025 its formula combining live performance and dialogue with authors and performers, with free admission.
