Happy Birthday UNESCO Beech Forests

The 2025 edition of "Happy Birthday UNESCO Beech Forests" took place in Monte Sant'Angelo (FG) from July 4 to 7, 2025, to celebrate the eighth anniversary of the inscription of the ancient beech forests of the Foresta Umbra in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The program, promoted by the Municipality of Monte Sant'Angelo with the support of the Puglia Region, enlivened the Foresta Umbra with four days of activities:

• Friday, July 4 — guided trekking through the beech forests;
• Saturday, July 5 — presentation of the book "Rinascita" at the UNESCO stele and, in the evening, "A Night in the Forest" with wildlife observation;
• Sunday, July 6 — the "Path of the Two UNESCO Sites" from the forest towards the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo;
• Monday, July 7 — e-bike excursion to discover the Gargano territory.

A widespread festival that combined nature, spirituality, and heritage enhancement, confirming the bond between the community of Monte Sant'Angelo and its centuries-old forests.
