Edition 2025 — Halaesa Performances

In the summer of 2025, the Halaesa Arconidea archaeological site in Tusa once again hosted the Alesina Summer classical theatre festival. Amidst the Hellenistic-Roman ruins overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, tragedies and comedies from the Greek and Latin repertoire were performed on August evenings, accompanied by evenings at the Piano delle Fontane open-air theatre featuring comedy and auteur performances.

In the summer of 2025, the Municipality of Tusa confirmed its cultural vocation by bringing classical theatre to the Halaesa Arconidea archaeological area, in the Nebrodi region in the province of Messina. The festival, part of the Alesina Summer programme, showcased the site—with its Hellenistic-Roman remains and view of the Tyrrhenian Sea—as a natural stage for great Greek and Latin tragedies and comedies.

Alongside the evenings at the excavations, the 2025 programme included events at the Piano delle Fontane open-air theatre in the village and was intertwined with other Tusa summer events, including archaeology, books, and local food festivals.
