Haflinger Horse Sleigh Race and Skijoring in Sarntal

The 2025 edition of the Haflinger Pferdeschlittenrennen und Skijöring marked a special milestone: the 70th anniversary of the Sarntal Valley sleigh race. The event took place on January 18, 2025, at the Rabensteinerhof farm in Mules/Muls, in the municipality of Sarntal (BZ). The program included the traditional sleigh races with Haflinger mares at a trot, divided into several categories, and the skijoring event with skiers pulled by galloping horses. As every year, drivers in traditional costumes and the final raffle enriched the festival, confirming the valley's strong bond with the Haflinger horse breed and this ancient South Tyrolean winter tradition.
