Edition 2025 — Becco Rosso Saddle
The 2025 edition
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the Becco Rosso saddle hosted the first guided hike of this itinerary, included in the summer season dedicated to discovering the fortified heritage of the Maritime Alps and the Stura Valley.
Meeting at 9:00 AM at the Pontebernardo parking area, Park guide Roberto Pockaj accompanied participants along an ancient former military mule track immersed in the larch forest, illustrating the numerous defensive works of the sector, including Opera 14 and the Becco Rosso Battery. Easy difficulty, elevation gain of about 743 meters, and return expected around 4:30 PM, with a packed lunch at the grassy saddle.
